BRAC Commercial Water Recycling Systems

Water collected from your shower/bath, wash basins and washing machines can be recycled and used for non potable use. This waste water also called greywater goes through a simple filtration and chlorination process that removes harmful bacteria ensuring that clean, clear, odorless water is produced for non-potable use, such as flushing toilets/urinals and landscape irrigation. Greywater is waste water that does not contain solids or organic waste.

These Commercial systems have been sized to work for all applications where capturing greywater for reuse in toilet flushing or irrigation systems has been specified. Our systems are fully scalable and can operate in high demand commercial environments.

BRAC’s technology is Canadian made with International patents pending. The CGW Series uses the well-proven treatment processes of dual-stage filtration and chlorine disinfection. The filtration process captures particles larger than 100-microns while the chlorination eliminates any harmful bacteria and pathogens. This automatic system is designed to require scheduled maintenance. On-line and remote monitoring devices can be added, and these can integrate with building automation systems.

BRAC Systems smart pump technology can deliver constant pressure greywater at a rate up to 450 GPM. With multiple main holding tanks linked in parallel and buried underground, together with a common greywater screening and filtration system, the CGW Series provides a scalable system suitable for daily hydraulic loads of up to 180,000 gallons per day*.
*Maximum flow by gravity through a 4” sewer pipe based on standard engineering calculations, full-flow, 1/4 pitch, would be approximately 125 GPM.

Greywater recycling offers consistent water availability to overcome drought and water restrictions. Architects can design sustainable buildings that drastically reduce water use by reusing water that would otherwise be destined for the sewer. Greywater systems are a viable means of reducing the impact on our freshwater resources and therefore have become a popular option in Green Buildings. The same reduction in outgoing sewerage can be experienced when greywater is treated and recycled rather than going to the sewer.

Example of a Commercial System

(Brac Systems *CGW-19800)

The CGW-19800 is comprised of three 6600 main holding tanks connected in series and is specifically used in applications when a higher flow volume of greywater is required. The high output 15hp pump manufactured by Brac Systems Inc. is capable of delivering 50,000 Litres /hour (13,192 GPH) @ 71psi. This high output will assist in delivering the greywater at above minimum working pressures when used in taller buildings or for multiple flush valve applications. The CGW-19800 can be used in many different applications ranging from labour camps to vacation resort

The liquid capacity of the CGW-19800 is 17400 Litres (4590 USG), which could recycle enough greywater per day to fully service the toilet flush volume requirements in a 480 man labour camp or detention centre.

Note: One person’s daily shower volume approximately equals the daily toilet flush volume requirements.

Features of the Brac System

The BRAC CGW-19800 Commercial GRS is a complete all-in-one greywater recycling system which includes in-ground holding tanks, in-ground lift stations, above-ground dual pressure filters, a water management processor with a dedicated pump, a variable frequency, 15hp constant pressure greywater pumping system, pressure filter alarms, and an integrated monitoring and controller processor with built-in BMS functionality (ModBus RTU/RS232).
